CASCABEL ROAD This 2 strand necklace celebrates the ecosystem of the San Pedro River in SE AZ. The charms and fetishes, made of stone, silver, pewter, wood and bone are of the birds, plants, and animals seen in the river basin. Cascabel means rattlesnake in Spanish so the necklace includes them. The stone chips are the types found in the area, except for the hematite circles which represent the tires people have lost along this long rough dirt road. |
